Libby Cathey is a Digital Reporter at ABC News in Washington, D.C. She finished third in her class at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in May 2019 and was awarded a Joseph Pulitzer Traveling Fellowship for international reporting. Prior to Columbia, she worked as a Talent and Travel Coordinator at The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Burbank, Calif., and as a Local News Story Editor at Snapchat in New York. She earned her B.A. from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study in "Performance Journalism and Entertainment Production". At NYU, she interned at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, TODAY Show, SiriusXM Radio, and KATV News in Little Rock, Ark. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and in Accra, Ghana, where her multimedia capstone on community radio stations was nominated for a Hearst Award in Enterprise Reporting. Her favorite beats to cover include breaking news, politics and policy. The proud Little Rock Central High School graduate is an Arkansas Razorback super fan and fried foods enthusiast.
